Networking To Market
Your Niche Business
Business networking is about building and maintaining business relationships. There you go. Thanks for coming. Don't forget to lock the door on the way out!!
Seriously, though, I know you didn't come here for an article on how to network. Anybody who's been in the business world for more than a few hours understands the importance of building ongoing relationships with other business professionals.
However, there are still some basic rules to follow to help you be more successful.
* Share information. Give more than you expect to get.
* Find groups comprised of companies that need your product or service.
* Choose groups with the most opportunities (happy hours, meet and greet, breakfast, lunch and dinner, training events, sponsorship opportunities, etc.)
* Limit your exposure to a few quality contacts during each event.
* And most important, selling is not initially the goal of the activity.
Although most of these rules apply to off line activities the opportunity to develop business contacts online offers additional challenges.
The need to offer a more distinctive message is very important. And although building a relationship through internet contacts may be possible, maintaining the business relationship in cyberspace will probably be more difficult.
If you find creative ways to listen to and respond in a personal way to the needs of your contacts, you will be on your way to building a lasting and beneficial business relationship.
Ask a lot of questions. Listen to many people, read a lot and learn as much as you can. After all, this is an ongoing activity. Come back often to marketing-your-niche-business.com. Share the resources you find here with those successful business people you decide to communicate with.
I could go on, but--as I promised at the top of this page--you didn't come here for an article. Enjoy the resources and come back often!!
